README FOR LOG365.ZIP
This readme file accompanies LOGIN.EXE v3.65 for NetWare v3.11 and v2.2
The following files are included with this release:
LOGIN EXE 108733 06-17-92 1:48p
LOG365 DOC (this file)
Purpose:
This revision contains the following modifications:
1) The current version of login does not recognize ";"'s at the end of a
string in the login script. (The ";" is used for string concatenation.)
2) This version contains a NO_DEFAULT parameter to place in the system login
script. If a user login script does not exist, the default login script
will not be executed.
3) This utility also allows the user to specify if login.exe should
synchronize the workstation time with the file server time. Currently,
login always synchronizes the workstation time with the file server time.
This new LOGIN.EXE allows the user to specify if this synchronization
should occur by using a new command in the login script.
It is as follows:
SET_TIME [ON | OFF]
SET_TIME OFF will not synchronize workstation time with the file server
when logging in.
SET_TIME ON will cause the workstation time to synchronize with the file
server time when logging in. (default)
Note: This change to LOGIN.EXE does not affect the current SHELL.CFG/NET.CFG
SET STATION TIME parameter. The SET STATION TIME parameter controls
whether the shell synchronizes the workstation time with the file
server's time. With this change, LOGIN.EXE can now similarly be
configured.
Installation:
1) Flag LOGIN.EXE in the public and login directories to SRW.
2) Copy LOGIN.EXE from the public and login directories to a diskette for
backup purposes.
3) Copy this version of LOGIN.EXE to the public and login directories.
4) Flag LOGIN.EXE in the public and login directories to SRO.
